Where to Post Uncensored AI Art: Platform Rules Compared
Where Can You Post Uncensored AI Art? Platform Rules Compared (2026)
You can post uncensored AI art on X, Reddit and Bluesky if the adult content is labeled and the people in it are fictional. Pixiv requires censored genitalia, DeviantArt limits explicit work to paid content, Tumblr bans explicit sexual acts, and Civitai's main site bans adult content. This guide compares what each platform's own pages say about adult content, AI labels and real people, checked on 5 October 2026.
Verdict: For adult AI art of fictional characters, X, Reddit and Bluesky are the clearest fits, each with its own labeling step. DeviantArt suits sensual, non-explicit work and art you sell. Pixiv works for adult art only if you mark R-18, label AI work and censor genitalia. Skip pixivFANBOX for AI work, because it prohibits it. HackAIGC publishes this post, so read the platform rules below and not our summary alone.
Rules change often. Each section links the page we read, so check the page before you post.
How Did We Compare These Platforms?
We compared the platforms by reading each one's own help, policy and terms pages, and we quote the wording where we could confirm it. We did not post to any platform to test enforcement, so this guide says nothing about how strictly a rule is applied.
Four questions decided what went into each section:
Adult content: whether the platform allows it, and what you must do first.
AI rules: whether the platform requires an AI label, bans AI work or says nothing.
Real people: what the platform says about content that shows a real person.
Age: who can view or post adult content.
Some pages could not be read. Pixiv's main Guidelines were checked from a copy of the page text. Where a page doesn't state something, we write "not stated" instead of guessing.
Takeaway: "not stated" means we found no rule on the pages we read, not that the platform allows it.
Which Platforms Allow Uncensored AI Art? A Rules Comparison
X, Reddit and Bluesky allow labeled adult content, while Pixiv, DeviantArt, Tumblr, Civitai and pixivFANBOX each restrict part of it. The table shows what each platform's pages state, and the sections after it give the detail.
Platform | Adult content | AI rule | Real people |
X | Allowed with a content warning, out of highly visible areas | AI-generated content follows the same label rule | Non-consensual nudity banned |
Allowed when marked NSFW, viewers confirm 18+ | No AI label rule found | AI-faked intimate media of real people banned | |
DeviantArt | Mature label; explicit content only in paid content | "Created using AI tools" label for art for sale | Express consent needed |
Pixiv | R-18 setting; genitalia must be censored | AI-generated label required | Photo-realistic sexual images banned |
pixivFANBOX | R-18 setting required; genitalia must be censored | Bans content made mostly by AI | Photo-realistic work that could be mistaken for live action is removable |
Bluesky | Allowed when labeled, with age restrictions | No AI rule found | No intimate images without consent |
Tumblr | Nudity welcome with a label, explicit acts banned | No AI-specific rule found | Unauthorized nude imagery banned |
Civitai | Banned on civitai.com, allowed on civitai.red | AI images welcome, real photographs banned | Real-person likeness banned, no consent exception |
What Three Rules Apply on Almost Every Platform?
Almost every platform here asks for three things: no real people without consent, adult content kept behind a label and an age check, and honesty about how a work was made. The wording and the penalties differ, so read each platform's page.
Real people. Reddit's help center counts intimate media as covered when it depicts "a state of nudity or engaged in any act of sexual conduct, including depictions that may have been AI-generated or faked." X, Bluesky, DeviantArt and Tumblr each have a consent rule too, covered in their sections. Civitai goes furthest and bans real-person likeness "in any context" on its main site.
Labels and age. X, Reddit, Bluesky, DeviantArt, Pixiv and Tumblr all ask you to mark adult work, and several let only adults view it. The step is different on each, so a work that is fine on one platform can be removed on another if you skip the label.
AI disclosure. Only some platforms ask for it. DeviantArt requires a label on AI art for sale, Pixiv requires one on AI-generated work, and pixivFANBOX bans most AI-made content. The rest say nothing we could find.
For the legal side of adult AI content, HackAIGC's guide to whether NSFW AI is legal covers it by country.
Takeaway: label adult work, keep real people out of it, and check each platform's AI rule before you upload.
Can You Post Uncensored AI Art on X?
Yes, X allows adult content, including AI-generated art, if you label it and keep it out of highly visible areas. The X adult content policy says consensually produced adult nudity or sexual content is allowed on X. The conditions are that it is "labeled with a content warning, kept out of highly visible areas, and reported if unmarked or in violation."
The policy says it "also applies to AI-generated, photographic or animated content such as cartoons, hentai, or anime." So X treats AI art like any other adult image. Adult content can't go in places such as live video, profile pictures, headers or List banners.
On age, X says users under 18 "cannot click to view marked content." The same goes for viewers who haven't added a birth date to their profile. The policy also says adult content must follow X's other rules, including the one on non-consensual nudity.
To mark your work, X asks you to adjust your media settings, which puts all your images and videos behind a content warning. You can also add a one-time content warning on individual posts. X adds that if you keep failing to mark your posts, it will adjust your account settings for you. The policy page we read is dated May 2024.
Best for: adult art of fictional characters that you want in a public feed. Skip it if you need a platform with no label step.
Can You Post AI Art on Reddit?
Yes, Reddit allows NSFW posting. You mark the content NSFW, and viewers confirm they are over 18. Reddit's help center says that when your profile is marked NSFW, "all of the posts on your profile are marked as NSFW," and people who want to view it "will need to confirm that they're over 18." The help page is dated 28 March 2026.
Reddit's rule on faked intimate media is the one that matters most for AI art. It bans images or video of another person posted to fake explicit content or to solicit "lookalike" pornography. The same page says the rule doesn't cover "AI-generated sexual media that depicts fictional people or characters, or artistic depictions (e.g., cartoons, anime, etc.)." That sentence is about the consent rule, not a promise that every community accepts such posts.
Each subreddit sets its own rules on top of this. We did not read a Reddit-wide rule that requires you to disclose AI use, and we found none in the pages we read. Reddit's public content policy covers data licensing, not posting rules, and we could not open Reddit's separate content rules.
Best for: fictional-character AI art where you want a community around a niche. Skip it if you don't want subreddit moderators deciding on your posts.
Can You Post AI Art on DeviantArt?
Yes, but DeviantArt limits what adult art you can post publicly, and you must label AI art you sell. DeviantArt's help center says labeling work as mature is "required when you submit your artwork," and that in mature subscription tiers "only deviants over 18 years old will be able to view and subscribe."
The AI rule is the clearest of any platform here. DeviantArt's AI label article says it "requires all art for sale to be correctly marked as Created using AI tools." The label applies to art "made entirely with AI tools or consists primarily of AI-generated components." If the main focus is self-created and the AI part is small, the label isn't needed. Selling without the label may lead to refunded sales or disciplinary action, and the page says the label is applied automatically when AI metadata is detected in the file.
DeviantArt's policy on sexual, erotic and fetish themes draws the line on explicit work. Its table lists non-sexual nudity and non-pornographic erotic content as allowed with the Mature tag in both public and paid content. It lists explicit content, such as intercourse and masturbation, as forbidden in public content and allowed with the Mature tag in paid content. It lists pornography, defined as explicit content using real people, their likeness or hyperrealistic content, as forbidden in both.
On consent, the same page requires the "express knowledge and written consent" of the models. It bans faked depictions made through "digital photo manipulation, face-swapping AI applications, or any other means or method."
We could not open DeviantArt's terms or the journal post that announced the label rule, and none of the support pages we read carried a date.
Best for: artists who sell AI art and want a clear label rule, and sensual art that stops short of explicit. Skip it if you want to post explicit work publicly.
Can You Post AI Art on Pixiv and pixivFANBOX?
Pixiv allows R-18 AI art only with an R-18 setting and censored genitalia, and it requires an AI-generated label, while pixivFANBOX bans content made mostly by AI. The two services have different rules, so treat them as separate places.
On Pixiv, users 18 or older can post R-18 work, and you set the age restriction yourself when you upload. Pixiv's Guidelines list "Depictions of exposed genitalia" as prohibited. They say works with graphic sex may be posted "only if they have been censored appropriately," and they name genitalia and images of penetration as content that needs mosaics or similar censorship. That makes Pixiv a poor fit for fully uncensored output. Pixiv's R-18 help page adds that tagging alone isn't enough: you must select the "Sexually Explicit Material (R-18)" viewing restriction.
Pixiv also requires an AI label. Its Guidelines define AI-generated work as work in which "all or most of the production process is carried out by AI" and say "All AI-generated work posted to the Service must be labeled as such." Pixiv may label unlabeled work itself when it can objectively tell that AI made it, and applying a label that doesn't match the content is listed as prohibited conduct. Pixiv's AI-generated option page says a work marked as AI-generated "may get featured in AI-generated rankings" and "may not be displayed on certain pages" for viewers who chose to hide AI work. That page adds that these conditions can change at Pixiv's discretion.
pixivFANBOX is stricter. Its help article on AI-generated content, updated 25 July 2023, prohibits content where "all or most of the production process was carried out by AI." The article also counts content "produced by AI and then lightly edited or revised." Pixiv announced the rule in a FANBOX notice dated 25 July 2023.
The ban reaches beyond posts. FANBOX says it inspects published posts, promotional content such as bios, icons, plans and cover images, and text such as newsletters, messages and comments. It does not count art made with built-in software features like auto-coloring, machine-translated text, or content that explains AI-generated work. The article also bans links that lure readers to sites promoting AI-generated content. Enforcement can mean hiding or deleting the content or suspending the creator account.
FANBOX's own guidelines, effective 15 December 2022, add two adult-content rules. Creators who post R-18 content must turn on "Posting R-18 contents" in their Creator Preferences. Genitalia and areas reminiscent of them "must be censored appropriately." The guidelines also list "photo-realistic work that could be mistaken for live action" among content that can be removed.
On real people, Pixiv's Guidelines prohibit "real-life photographs or photo-realistic images that can be interpreted as sexual or cruel content," and sexual content involving real persons who are minors or photo-realistic depictions of minors. The Guidelines we read state no minimum age to join.
Best for: Pixiv suits adult illustration where you apply mosaics, set R-18 and add the AI label. Skip Pixiv if you want uncensored explicit output, and skip FANBOX for AI-made work.
What About Bluesky, Tumblr and Civitai?
These three platforms each differ: Bluesky allows labeled adult content, Tumblr bans explicit acts, and Civitai splits across two sites.
Bluesky. Its community policy page (last updated 19 September 2025) say: "We allow consensual adult sexual content, including fictional depictions, when appropriately labeled and subject to appropriate age restrictions." The guidelines also ban sharing, threatening to share, or promoting tools to create intimate images "without their express consent, including synthetic or digitally altered content." We found no AI-specific labeling rule on the page.
Tumblr. Tumblr's community rules (last modified 9 January 2026) say "Visual depictions of sexually explicit acts (or content with an overt focus on genitalia) are not allowed on Tumblr." Nudity and other adult material are "generally welcome" if you add a Content Label. The page doesn't mention AI-generated content at all.
Civitai. The picture here is split. Civitai's terms of service, last modified 26 August 2026, list pornography and sexually explicit content as prohibited. They also ban content based on the likeness of real people "in any context." A Civitai article from April 2026 says civitai.com is the safe-for-work site and civitai.red carries "All NSFW content." Civitai's education guide, last updated 30 July 2025, still describes opt-in mature content on civitai.com, which is older than the April 2026 split. We did not read the rules that apply on civitai.red, so we can't say what it bans.
Civitai is built for AI work, so it has no AI label rule that we found. The same guide describes it as "a thriving hub of Generative AI resource sharing" and says "We don't allow any real photographs of people, places, or objects." The real-person rule is strict. Civitai's real-people rule page says it applies to public figures, celebrities, influencers and private individuals, with no exception for consent or self-likeness. It also says "If the image doesn't resemble the real person in any meaningful way, visually or stylistically, it's fine," and that using real person names in prompts triggers warnings and account review. Civitai's safety page adds that all photorealistic images of minors and all sexual depictions of minors are prohibited, and that every uploaded image goes through automated moderation tagging with human review for flagged content.
Takeaway: Bluesky and Tumblr are open to labeled adult art, and Civitai depends on which site you use.
Which Platform Fits Which Kind of AI Art?
Choose by what you make and whether you sell it. The table uses only the rules covered above.
If your art is | Best fit from the rules we read | Watch for |
Adult art of fictional characters, free to view | X, Reddit, Bluesky | A label step on each |
Sensual art you sell | DeviantArt | The "Created using AI tools" label |
Adult illustration you will censor and mark R-18 | Pixiv | Mosaics over genitalia, the R-18 setting and the AI label |
Art that shows a real person | None | Every platform here bans or restricts it |
Explicit acts | X, Reddit, Bluesky | Not Tumblr, not civitai.com, and DeviantArt only in paid content |
Mostly AI-made work for a paid membership | Not pixivFANBOX | It bans it |
"Fits" here means the rules allow it. It doesn't mean your community will welcome it or that the platform enforces its rules as written. HackAIGC's guide to AI content censorship for creators explains why filters differ between tools and sites.
What Should You Check Before You Post?
Run through five checks before you upload uncensored AI art, because a removed post is a worse outcome than a few minutes of reading.
Is everyone in the image fictional? Every platform above that states a rule on real people restricts them. Civitai's main site bans them outright, and X, Reddit, Bluesky, DeviantArt and Tumblr each have a consent rule on intimate imagery.
Did you apply the label? X wants a content warning, Reddit wants NSFW, DeviantArt wants Mature, Pixiv wants an R-18 viewing restriction, Tumblr wants a Content Label and Bluesky wants an adult label.
Is the work explicit? Tumblr bans explicit acts, DeviantArt's policy page confines explicit content to paid content, and Pixiv requires genitalia to be censored. Civitai's main site bans adult content altogether.
Are you selling it? DeviantArt requires the "Created using AI tools" label on all art for sale.
Is it mostly AI-made? If you plan to use pixivFANBOX, its AI article prohibits work where all or most of the production was done by AI.
Rules move, and the dates on the pages we read range from 2023 to 2026. Open the linked page the day you post.
How Do You Make Uncensored AI Art and Post It Where It Is Allowed?
Make the art in a generator that doesn't filter adult content, then post it on a platform whose rules allow it. HackAIGC's NSFW image generator is one such tool, and HackAIGC's terms bar any depiction involving minors, sexually explicit content involving real people, and non-consensual intimate imagery.
The terms require users to be 18 or older. They also ban content involving incest, bestiality and sexual violence. HackAIGC's terms allow commercial use of outputs, subject to applicable law. Platform rules apply on top, so selling AI art on DeviantArt still needs its AI label.
This guide isn't a list of tools, but HackAIGC has one. The best NSFW AI art generators post compares the options, and the NSFW AI art guide covers making and sharing the work. If you want an uncensored AI art generator with no prompt filters, HackAIGC's AI image generator with no restrictions page is the place to start. Its unrestricted AI art generator post focuses on concept art.
What "uncensored" means in practice is covered in the uncensored AI explainer. Unfiltered AI art still has to follow each platform's terms once you post it, so a tool without filters doesn't change the rules above.
HackAIGC's guide to AI porn laws covers the legal side of non-consensual AI imagery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Art Sites Have Banned AI Art?
Among the sites we read, pixivFANBOX bans content made mostly by AI, and Civitai's main site bans adult content and real-person likeness. The FANBOX article is dated 2023. X, Reddit, DeviantArt, Pixiv and Bluesky allow AI art under their own conditions. DeviantArt asks for a label on art for sale, and Pixiv asks for one on AI-generated work.
Which AI Tools Don't Censor Images?
HackAIGC says its image tool has no restrictive prompt filters, and its terms still bar depictions involving minors, sexually explicit content involving real people, and non-consensual content. No independent test ranks the tools. HackAIGC's own generator guide names other options.
Can You Post NSFW AI Art on X?
Yes, if you label it with a content warning and keep it out of highly visible areas such as profile pictures and headers. X's policy covers AI-generated content as well as photographic and animated content. Viewers under 18, or without a birth date on their profile, can't click to view marked content.
Does Reddit Allow AI-Generated NSFW Art?
Reddit allows NSFW content when it is marked, and viewers confirm they are over 18. Reddit's rule against faked intimate media covers real people and doesn't cover AI-generated sexual media of fictional characters. Each subreddit sets its own rules, so read them before you post.
Do You Have to Label AI Art on DeviantArt?
You must label art for sale as "Created using AI tools." The label is for work made entirely with AI or mostly from AI components. A small, insignificant AI element in a self-created image doesn't need it. Selling without the label may lead to refunded sales or disciplinary action.
